Inaugural Food@Stanford Symposium

Re-Thinking Food

We invite you to celebrate the launch of Food@Stanford, our new campus-wide initiative that is uniting students, postdocs, staff, and faculty across all seven schools on the shared mission to create sustainable, equitable, and health-promoting food futures by integrating research, education, and innovation.

CHEM 29N - Zare

Chemistry in the Kitchen

This course examines the chemistry of food and drink preparation, which makes what we consume more pleasurable. Good cooking is often considered an art more than a science, but some understanding will make the preparation and consumption of food and drink more enjoyable.

Plant-Based Diet Initiative

PBDI Seed Grants

Stanford faculty, fellows, and students are invited to apply for a Plant-Based Diet Initiative PBDI seed grant to explore plant-based solutions for improving health and sustainability. PBDI provides seed grants to scientists, hosts symposia to share research, and creates resources to make findings accessible to all.
